While the back-catalog is certainly impressive, we wanted to find out what the fastest Audi cars currently available for sale are, and so we comprised this list of only the most potent models.

2025 Audi S4

The first model to appear on this list of the fastest Audi models in 2025 is somewhat of a sleeper sedan, dubbed so for its ability to slip under the radar. That’s not to suggest that the 2025 Audi S4 Sedan is full to look at, but rather understated – there’s very little going on which would hint at the S4’s ability to reach a limited 155 mph top speed, thanks to a boosted V6 engine developing 349 horsepower.
Our S4 tester came with adaptive suspension and sport differential, and there’s no doubting the comfort of the suspension and effectiveness of the torque-vectoring differential when pushing the S4 around on a back road. Even on the worst-kept roads California has to offer, the ride refuses to jolt passengers around, and in Dynamic mode (which is Audi speak for Sport mode) it keeps the chassis flat through corners without sending bumps and jolts up anyone’s spine.
Such power allows this suave sedan to crack 0 to 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds too. That’s more than fast enough for a fun daily driver, and with an MSRP of $54,900 it won’t break the bank either, which is more than what can be said for some of the S4’s more potent siblings.

2025 Audi S6

The 2025 Audi S6, which is currently only available as a sedan, boasts the exact same performance figures as the smaller and lighter S4. It does so by generating more grunt – 444 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque to be precise – courtesy of a bi-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine, which is then mated to an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission, which sees power sent to all four wheels through the fabled Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Having previously gained motivation from a huge V10 engine, and later a twin-turbocharged V8, the Audi S6 is an excellent example of how downsizing can be done successfully in performance cars. Despite packing fewer cylinders, the current S6 is among the fastest iterations yet, and certainly one of the smartest too, packed full of creature comforts and the latest driver aids.

Don’t let the apparent weight and bulk of these Audi SUVs fool you – they are every bit as athletic as Audi’s more traditional S range, in fact more so, as evidenced by the 0 to 60 mph times which surpass those of the aforementioned S4 and S6 sedans.
Both of these 5,000 lbs + SUVs pack the same 500-horsepower V8 powertrain, which is 4.0 liters in capacity, and boosted for good measure. So, not only do they boast two more cylinders than the smaller S4 and S6, but a whole heap more horsepower too, which explains why the all-important 0 to 60 mph dash can be over so quickly. Despite clearly being separate and distinct models, the SQ7 sporting a more typical and boxy SUV shape, while the SQ8’s silhouette is noticeably sleeker, the two share the same mechanicals underneath the skin, which explains the identical performance figures, and therefore why we’ve grouped them together here.

This menacing sleeper sedan is a real crowd-pleaser, successfully blending all the best of Audi Sport’s high-performance components with an impeccably trimmed interior, supple ride, plus enough gadgets and gizmos to make all but the highest of S-Class trims sweat. So, what can’t the 2025 Audi S8 do?

It’s often said that the best things come in small packages, and that statement certainly rings true when applied to the 2025 Audi RS3. This blisteringly fast derivative of the humble A3 is also available as a hatchback in other markets, which sports the same powertrain, and consequently the same top speed and acceleration times. Under the hood, a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five engine takes care of motivation by delivering 401 horsepower to all four wheels, courtesy of the iconic Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The use of five-cylinder engines has been popular with the German brand ever since the 1980s, back when Audi used to dominate the world rallying stage – now that the TT has been discontinued, Audi’s RS3 is the only model to sport the mighty five-pot engine.

For the fastest Audi car right now, you’d need to look toward the recently revised RS e-tron GT. The Performance trim is aptly named, as that’s exactly what it delivers – more performance. The latest model delivers an astonishing 912 hp in boost mode, which is enough to propel the four-door sedan from 0 to 60 mph in a scarcely believable 2.4 seconds, making it the fastest Audi available at the moment, in terms of acceleration. The fact that it can seat four people in comfort makes this Audi’s performance numbers even more unbelievable.

2024 Audi RS5 Competition Edition

Buying a 2024 Audi RS5 is surely an exciting experience, but if it wasn’t exciting enough, Audi now provides what’s known as the Competition Package for this model, which sees the sports coupe transform from just another RS model into a genuine supercar-slaying machine. The package comes with many tweaks and adjustments, but most relevant here is the increase of the top speed, to a heady 180 mph. In an effort to keep things under control, the Competition model sits closer to the ground, boasts huge carbon-ceramic brakes, and sports high-performance Pirelli tires, rated to cope with the more intense top speed.

Thanks to an ever-increasing number of cars which now boast 1,000 horsepower plus and insane turbocharged or hybridized powertrains, very few facts and figures actually sport any sort of wow factor. However, the fact that this near-5,500 lb SUV can achieve a top speed of 190 mph is genuinely impressive – how can the huge Audi Q8 achieve such a feat? It does so by taking motivation from a 631-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which sends power to all four wheels.
Audi notes that the 190 mph top speed is optional, and even that is still electronically limited, likely due to the expense of fitting tires capable of taking such a beating. Fast Audi cars are nothing new, but the RS Q8 Performance is the first SUV of its kind by the brand, and the stats are mightily impressive – it’ll even beat a Lexus LFA around the Nürburgring.

2025 Audi RS6 Avant And RS7

Both of these models boast the same engine, 0-60 time, and top speed, which means they jointly occupy the second spot. The burly 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 develops 621 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, propelling each model to a 190-mph top speed. Despite clear aerodynamic differences, the RS7 takes the same 3.3 seconds to achieve 60 mph from a standstill as the RS6.
Push it down a tighter road, and despite its bulk over a supercar, it’s supremely agile. Mix that with the excess of power always on tap, and the RS6 Avant demands focus. That focus is helped by the engine’s soundtrack which is sonorous, not obnoxious, giving you as much feedback as the steering wheel and feel of the chassis through the seat.
As far as fast Audi cars go, these are up there as one of the best, packing all the usual trappings of a four-ringed performance car, but with an expansive and comfortable cabin, crammed full of creature comforts and the most luxurious materials. Both of these models also have spacious trunks, so can be used for family duty when you aren’t in the mood to embarrass some serious sports cars.
