2026 Audi A6 Debuts With Bold Styling And High-Tech Cabin
\
The Audi A6 is the German brand’s midsized sedan that competes against the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The Four Rings brand is now rolling out a new range of A6 models. The latest one to arrive is the traditional four-door and follows the premieres of the Avant wagon and E-Tron EV.
For now, Audi is only releasing a limited amount of info about the A6 sedan in the United States market. More details are coming closer to the vehicle’s launch here in the second half of 2025. The full specs for the European model are available now, though.

What We Know About The A6 For The U.S.
The 2026 A6 sedan sports the sharp-edged styling that’s also evident on the Avant. The svelte shape has a drag coefficient of just 0.23. The front-end design features a massive grille with vertical slats on the outer corners. The trapezoidal headlights have pixel-like square lighting elements along their upper edges. The profile highlights the car’s sleek roof. The rear has skinny taillights, and a separate light bar spans the vehicle’s width. Rectangular exhaust pipes are in cutouts below the bumper.

What’s Inside?
The A6 sedan features a luxurious, high-tech cabin. The dashboard consists of an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment screen. Plus, there’s an optional 10.9-inch display specifically for the front passenger, where that person can browse the Internet and stream video. A head-up display with an 85 percent larger display area is an option. A 20-speaker stereo and four-zone climate control are also available upgrades.
The cabin has 30 percent more sound deadening than the outgoing A6. The result is a quieter interior and better acoustics. The panoramic glass roof has six switchable segments that can alter the amount of light inside the car.
The trunk can swallow up to 17.76 cubic feet, which is enough for two large suitcases side-by-side, according to Audi. The 40:20:40 folding seats can be lowered to make room for larger loads. An optional electrically operated tailgate can open when you kick in front of it.

Tech For Europe
In Europe, Audi offers the 2026 A6 sedan with a pair of mild-hybrid-assisted engines with 1.7 kilowatt-hour battery packs. The turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 and turbodiesel 2.0-liter four-cylinder benefit from the system that’s capable of producing 24 horsepower and 170 pound-feet. The tech provides an extra power boost when driving away from a stop or while passing on the highway. The mild hybrid can also power the car without using the combustion engine at very low speeds.
In addition to these mild-hybrid-assisted engines, Europeans also get a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder without this system. The powerplant is solely available with front-wheel drive.
Europeans can also order an optional adaptive air suspension that sits 0.79 inches lower than the standard setup. The Dynamic Mode setting drops the car by an additional 0.39 inches. All-wheel steering is another available upgrade for drivers looking for better steering response.

TopSpeed’s Take
Audi
The 2026 Audi A6 blends a handsome exterior and a high-tech cabin. It’s unclear why the brand is not offering the mild-hybrid system in the U.S.. The system seems like a good way to increase efficiency and performance. The lack of advanced headlights is also unfortunate, but this is due to the features not complying with regulations here. The new car’s interior looks especially good, particularly with three screens spanning the dashboard. We look forward to taking a closer look at the new A6 and getting behind the wheel of it.
