Audi Confirms Full-Year Guidance with Boost in Electric Vehicle Sales

Volkswagen’s premium brand Audi has confirmed its full-year guidance, excluding potential impacts from U.S. tariffs, after reporting a 12.4% increase in first-quarter revenue. According to Reuters, Audi’s quarterly revenue rose to 15.43 billion euros ($17.49 billion) in the January-March period, compared to 13.73 billion euros a year earlier.The company has reiterated its full-year outlook for 2025, projecting revenue between 67.5 and 72.5 billion euros, with an operating margin range of 7%-9%. However, Audi has noted that the financial implications of import tariffs, particularly in the United States, remain uncertain, and have not been factored into the guidance. Additionally, a March agreement between Audi’s management and the works council has yet to be incorporated into their forecasts.Despite a 3.4% decline in global vehicle deliveries in the first quarter of 2025, Audi experienced a significant 30.1% increase in electric vehicle sales. In North America, excluding Mexico, deliveries fell by 2.1% to 48,599 vehicles, attributed to upcoming model upgrades. In China, deliveries dropped by 7% to 144,471 vehicles, impacted by fierce local market competition.Like other European carmakers, Audi is facing challenges from U.S. import tariffs, which are anticipated to raise car prices significantly and add pressure to an already strained automotive sector. Audi’s exposure to these tariffs is notable, as it does not have a manufacturing facility in the United States.
