“Base” Isn’t What You Think With The New Audi E-tron GT Quattro
\
Audi’s new e-tron GT quattro is the kind of “starter” that comes with a platinum card and valet parking. It gets you into the club without making you feel like you’re just visiting. So while it may be billed as the entry point to its electric Gran Turismo lineup, there’s not much “base” about it.

A Base Model That Outruns Expectations
Audi
With up to 577 horsepower (in Launch Control mode), a 0–62 MPH time of just 4.0 seconds, and a maximum range of 386 miles, this is less an « entry model » and more a full-on performance EV that just happens to cost less than its siblings. For buyers eyeing the premium electric space, it’s a compelling blend of power, comfort, and efficiency with less badge flex, but all the substance.
Slotting below the S and RS variants in Audi’s e-tron GT family, the quattro pares things back just enough to trim about 66 pounds off the curb weight versus the S model. But it still includes the important hardware like Audi’s sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, which can juggle torque between the axles in real time based on traction, driver input, and conditions. It’s the kind of tech that makes even normal commutes feel engineered.
The battery tech is equally buttoned-up. The 105 kWh (gross) high-voltage pack supports up to 320 kW of DC fast charging, meaning roughly 177 miles of added range in just 10 minutes. And with preconditioning handled automatically by the onboard route planner, it’s smart enough to keep things at peak efficiency before you ever plug in.

Engineering, Say “Hello” To Elegance
Audi
Design-wise, Audi isn’t reinventing the wheel. It’s just making it sleeker. A low drag coefficient of 0.24, active aero elements, and clean coupe-like proportions give the quattro both presence and purpose.
The interior space is chock-full of real GT intent, including eight-way adjustable sport seats with integrated headrests, premium materials, and clever battery packaging that carves out real legroom in back. Plus, it’s got over 17 cubic feet of combined cargo space between the front and rear trunks.
Audi’s latest move feels less like downsizing and more like baiting the hook. In a market where EV buyers want premium without the eye-watering price tag, this “entry-level” GT hits the sweet spot – big performance, proper luxury, and just enough restraint to feel smart, not spendy.
Built at Audi Sport’s Böllinger Höfe facility in Neckarsulm, the e-tron GT quattro starts at around $118,000. It may be labeled ‘entry-level,’ but this car’s got all the performance, luxury, and tech of its pricier siblings. It’s like slipping into the VIP lounge – no one knows what you tipped security to get in, but you’re still drinking top-shelf.
