Discussion: Are Alfa Romeo cars any good or is the upkeep as problematic as some suggest?
While Alfa Romeo is a popular brand in Europe, it’s definitely more niche in the US. It builds beautiful cars with a focus on performance, but it did have some quality issues, especially with the Giulia. Those early problems are largely resolved, but the reputation lingers. Still, we wouldn’t be averse to buying an Alfa, especially because they’re such fun to drive. We’d be cautious with used models from early in the US launch, but not as concerned with current model years. What do you think about Alfa Romeo? Would you buy one?

What was the last truly desirable Chrysler model sold in America?
Chrysler is down to a rather depressing minivan-only lineup in the USA. Yes, the Pacifica is an excellent vehicle, but it’s hardly anything to get gearheads excited. That got me thinking: When last has Chrysler sold a genuinely desirable model in America? The supercharged Crossfire SRT-6 sold in the 2000s stands a chance, with its distinctive design and 330-hp V6. The old-school 300 SRT-8 with its 470-hp Hemi V8 was hardly boring, either.
Were these the last interesting cars Chrysler made, or would you need to go back even further into the history books to find one?

Touchscreens vs. Buttons: What’s your preference?
Volkswagen recently acknowledged how many customers dislike touch-heavy infotainment systems, promising that physical buttons would make a comeback. What are your thoughts? Do you like the tech-forward approach of relying on touchscreens? Do you prefer being able to physically flip, turn, or press buttons? Or are you not too fussed about either?

The Ramcharger PHEV is now coming in early 2025 – would you buy one?
Ram originally had plans for the all-electric Ram 1500 REV to hit the market first, but it’s had a change of heart. The company is now saying that the Ramcharger PHEV is coming first with a target date of early 2025. This will make it the first plug-in hybrid truck on the market. This is big news, but is it news truck fans will embrace? Is the introduction of the first PHEV truck a big deal, and would you consider buying one?

Discussion: Would you consider moving from a German luxury car to a Genesis automobile?
If you can live with less brand recognition, there’s no reason not to consider a Genesis. These cars are impeccably built, very comfortable, and better value than the equivalents from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. However, Genesis doesn’t have a direct answer to high-performance models from BMW M and Mercedes-AMG. Would you consider switching your German car for a Genesis?

What Do You Think Is The Most Underrated Car Ever Made?
We’ve been having the « underrated car » discussion in the office frequently. In our opinion, underrated cars are decent machines that get overlooked for myriad reasons. It could be something as simple as brand bias, or simply people buying more capability than they actually need, as is the case with the Honda Ridgeline. Yes, it can’t tow or haul as much as a Ford F-150, but shockingly few people actually use their trucks for that. And the Ridgeline is streets ahead when it comes to ride comfort, thanks to its unibody design. Hence, underrated.
Other examples include the Fiat 124, which was overlooked in favor of its (much) more famous cousin, the Mazda Miata. Other examples include the Ford Flex, the Lexus LC, Kia Stinger, and VW Arteon. Discussion: What are your objective reasons for not buying an EV?
We know buying a car is subjective, but if you could separate the emotional aspects from the process, what would make you buy and EV over a gas-fed car? The average driving range of an EVs is now more than most people drive daily, you have the ability to top up on charging in the evening, EVs have proven to be just as reliable, and coss are coming down – so what other reasons are there for not buying an electric vehicle?

What was the most disappointing car of the year? You can’t say Jaguar – that’s a concept.
We’ve seen loads of amazing reveals this year, but some have been a little underwhelming. For me, the Ferrari F80’s looks have made it a huge disappointment. I’m not saying it’s going to be a bad hypercar, or even that it’s aesthetically challenging (some angles work for me), but I was hoping for a little more sensuality, despite the forewarning of spy shots, and I sincerely believed a V12 was the only acceptable choice at this point in automotive history. What was your biggest automotive letdown this year? Jaguar doesn’t count because that’s just low-hanging fruit at this point.

Elon Musk’s involvement with the new Trump Administration has brought to the fore the concept of whether artist and art should be separated. EVs were long seen as the vehicle of choice for the liberal left, but with Musk’s current political involvement skewing right, we have to ask whether politics has changed how you feel about Tesla as a brand. What generation of the Corvette looks the best?
This is a tough one, as several Corvette generations could be considered beautiful, muscular, or a combination of both. The C2 is undoubtedly a classic and today’s C8 looks more expensive than it is. For me, there’s something very alluring about the front-engined, relatively modern C6s and C7s with their low, long hoods. Forced to pick one, I’d go with the C7. What’s your best-looking Corvette generation?
